Boss is always right

"Boss is always right"... Every now and then you or your colleagues use this saying to console your mind! Isn't it? But why our notions do not match with this "official divine"? Are these creatures made of some different composition by the maker? Why his/her thought process differs from the people lower in hierarchy? Why is he/she unnecessarily dominating most of the time? We accept it globally that no boss is perfect but only one percent of people are courageous to raise their pitch against that 'bossy' attitude. Ninety nine percent people accept that "Boss is a Boss and Boss is always right". Accept it or reject it but those one percent 'daring' people are always suppressed in corporate race or any race in life. No one can teach us professionalism and here we do not intend to prove our boss right or wrong. There are some notions that will always remain same. But one cannot stop working and sit back at home with all such fears in mind. Some points that we can keep in mind and live our life in a 'bossy' environment:

- Keep your work up-to-date and never give a chance to any insider or outsider
- Boss is to be respected like all colleagues in work area. And, never have fear in heart or mind while you take his/her name.
- Do not involve yourself in unnecessary gossips that can ruin your image
- Do not admire something blindly just because your boss likes it. He/She is more intelligent than you. He/She knows who is trying to flatter him/her. And it doesn't work in long run for those who have gaps in their daily work.
- Always remember, you are in work area where no one is a 'friend'. Stay alert and cautious! You may find a lot of opportunists in this corporate environment. Just make situational friends as living in isolation is impossible. And, 'move on'.
- There are many favorites of your BOSS! You may be just one of them. Boss will always have unexpected people in his list who may act as a 'spy'. So, do not ever talk wrong about your boss in front of anyone.
- Last but not the least, accept the fact that 'Boss' has to be bossy mostly as he is been assigned to do that! :-) Do not panic for every damn issue.

It is a fact that whenever you are involved in some issue, the BOSS pops in at that place unexpectedly! Most likely, you are at fault and have no way to prove your sincerity. And, above all, when ninety-nine times you are right, no one comes and appreciate but just one fault/error is exaggerated/escalated and enough to destroy your beautiful image. But then isn't true... We all face this and nothing is different for anyone. There is no point to switch from one job to the other just because of all these issues. Every company has the same 'bossy' boss as he is been trained or educated and supposed to do the same.

One statement that can ease you if you interpret it right... "Boss is only a boss till the time you let him be one!" ;-)

  5. Thought provoking indeed! But I am afraid boss is always right and there is no doubt about it! This is a pragmatic and time tested approach to work peacefully in subordination .To prove it oherwise is frougt with grave repercussions.
Any way your views are interesting!

  8. There is no standard strategy to be adopted.Bosses vary in skill, behaviour, knowledge and mentoring. The good, bad and ugly prevail here as in any field. We have to adapt our ways after due assessment of the boss on merits.Generally he is an experienced guy and expected to know the tricks of the trade,
